The Aquaprobe inlet means that the analyser is unaffected by liquids, while the special Aquaprobe design allows volatiles and other gas species to be transmitted directly into the ion source. This approach gives excellend sensitivity and linearity, with detection levels down in the low pbb range.

Sample is drawn from the liquid by means of a peristaltic pump, which then passes the liquid into the Aquaprobe which is close coupled to the analyser ion source for maximum sensitivity. As the liquid sample passes through the Aquaprobe , the gas is transmitted into the analyser.
